CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT
With a rich background with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Avery Gay, COTA, has experience as an ABA Therapist and working with pediatrics in home health and in the clinical setting with low and high functioning patients. She was drawn to occupational therapy through an initial interest in physical therapy, and after shadowing a few Occupational Therapists, her interest peaked.
Avery’s interests vary from vision deficits and therapies, and handwriting to neurological disorders, ADHD, and working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. A charismatic therapist, she enjoys making therapy activities fun and functional while focusing on sensory processing, socialization skills, motor-planning skills, play-based skills, and gross and fine motor coordination. She is also experienced with utilizing assistive technology and The Listening Program.
In her downtime, Avery loves to try out new recipes, baking tasty treats for her friends and families.
