LEAD SPEECH THERAPIST
Cindy Ates has been a certified speech language pathologist for 17 years and maintained a private practice for 14 years. Her interests include early language development, language acquisition, cognition, Autism Spectrum Disorders, evidence-based practice, the use of counseling in clinical practice and holistic approaches to treatment.
In addition to her therapy practices, she is an active member of the community and works closely with a number of non-profit organizations. Because of her outstanding achievements in the field, she was awarded the 2007 University of North Texas Alumni of the Year and the ASHA Ace Award.
Cindy has extensive experience working in private practice, in schools and in the academic setting. She also has broad experience supervising students, coaching, and organizing workshops for parents and professionals. She is a member of ASHA, of TSHA (Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association), The Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, The American Dental Association, American Academy of Private Practice in Speech Pathology and Audiology and The Buteyko Breathing Educators Association.
